There is prompt visualization the left kidney, consistent with normal renal
perfusion. This is followed by normal tracer extraction and excretion of tracer
into the collecting system and transit into the bladder. Activity reaches a peak
at three minutes and decreases to less than 50% at ten minutes. The left kidney
has normal function.
Delayed appearance of tracer is noted in the right kidney, with only a sliver of
remaining perfused renal parenchyma, consistent with reduced renal perfusion.
There is subsequent tracer pooling in the right renal pelvis/collective system.
The right renogram is flat.
After injection of Lasix, there is a reduction of approximately 30 percent of
the tracer activity in the right renal collecting system; however, over the 20
minute period, the 50 percent excretion level was not reached, which is
consistent with a right renal obstruction.
The differential renal function is 87% (left) and 13% (right).
1. The left kidney shows normal perfusion with normal renal function.
2. The right kidney has only a sliver of perfused renal parenchyma and
demonstrates severely delayed excretion with pooling of tracer in the pelvis.
There is an abnormal response to Lasix with less than 50 percent reduction in
tracer activity which is consistent with an obstruction.
