The patient is an 80-year-old male with a recent diagnosis of colon cancer metastatic to the liver and likely to the lungs. He has a left lower quadrant colostomy in place. He is septic, has Clostridium difficile colitis and is referred to evaluate for an abscess.
There is diffusely intense tracer activity throughout the bowel. There is a focus of tracer activity in the left lower quadrant of the abdomen consistent with his colostomy site.
2. No evidence for abnormal tracer activity suggestive of an abscess.
3. Left lower quadrant colostomy.
