The patient is a 23-year-old female with recent diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism, who is referred for evaluation of parathyroid adenoma.

Physiological tracer uptake is identified in the thyroid, myocardium, and liver. Delayed images demonstrate complete tracer washout of tracer from the thyroid gland. However, in the inferior pole of the right thyroid lobe a large focus of intense tracer uptake persists.

Parathyroid adenoma is localized to the inferior pole of the right thyroid lobe. No evidence for mediastinal uptake to suggest mediastinal parathyroid adenoma.
