The patient is a 54-year-old woman with a history of right carpal tunnel syndrome status post release surgery now with right hand and forearm pain.
On the blood flow and blood pool views, tracer activity is noted throughout both right and left hand and forearm, with increased activity seen in the right hand and forearm.
In the delayed images, there is increased tracer activity localizing to the right wrist and small joints of the right hand.
Abnormally increased tracer activity noted in the right arm on blood flow images and localizing to the right wrist and small joints of the right hand on delayed images is consistent with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome.
