The patient is a 2-year-old male with a right proximal femur mass consistent with Ewing sarcoma. The patient is referred for evaluation of possible distant metastatic disease.
Initial Bone Scan
Three Months Later
Second Scan: There is mild increased tracer activity observed in right femur.
1. Ewing sarcoma of the right femur with a fracture at the proximal femur.
2. No focus of increased tracer uptake is identified that would be consistent with osseous metastasis.
Second Scan:
1. Increased tracer activity throughout the entire right femur consistent with the patient's Ewing sarcoma. When compared with the prior study, tracer uptake is diminished consistent with favorable response to treatment.
2. No focus of increased tracer uptake is identified that would be consistent with osseous metastasis.
